ABOUT FISHGAUGE

From gathering a feed to a sport.

WHY FISHGAUGE CAME ABOUT

Measure only comps are growing.

Measure only fish comps are gaining popularity as recreational fishing changes from gathering a feed to a sport.

Light modern rods and reels have seen a huge rise in alternative fishing techniques, techniques like slow pitch jigging and soft baiting. This has cleared the way for more fish to be caught and returned to the ocean.

Traditional fishing comps are popular with clubs and fishermen everywhere. Weighing in a dead fish has been the only way to judge the winners. The problem with this is many large fish are taken in the belief theirs is the biggest, only to find at the weigh-in that a bigger fish has already been weighed in.

FishGauge gets around that problem. A one day fishing comp with live leaderboards and instant notification means you can put that big fish back.

WHAT FISHGAUGE DOES ABOUT IT

The photo is the record.

The fish goes back

A photo on a measuring mat stands in for the fish, so it doesn't have to come home to count.

The mat you already have

Any fishing comp approved mat works. There is nothing new to buy.

The photo settles it

Every catch keeps its photo, species, length and date, and judges can check any fish against the mat.

Weight, estimated

From published length-to-weight curves for most species, so you know roughly what you caught. Never used for scoring.
